Eileen's husband was recently stationed in Guam but they had the opportunity to come home to visit family for a few months. During that time, we wanted to meet up so that I could document these moments that pass so quickly, especially when they are so young.
I've known Eileen for 8 years. I photographed her wedding & engagement in 2012. We remained friends and stayed in contact over the years. My favorite part about being a wedding photographer is not only being there for one of the most important moments of your lives but to then see where life takes you from there. I always love seeing my clients move forward to the next steps in life like adopting, having children, buying their first house or whatever the next big step may be for them.
Eileen spent some time back home in Virginia visiting her family while her husband was on a short deployment. During this time, her mother & father soaked up every sweet moment with those babies. Raising your children half a world away is hard. This time together meant a lot for them.
We squeezed in a quick family lifestyle session to grab those fleeting moments of spilled drinks, crying, snuggles and singing Frozen songs.
Baby Emma is such a laid back, sweet and gentle baby. She rarely cries and loves to laugh at her big brother. She has striking blue eyes that follow you wherever you go. She doesn't miss a thing!
Liam is a very energetic, loving three year old. He moves a mile a minute but never misses a chance to make others laugh, including his little sister.
Just like his baby sister, he shares those beautiful blue eyes and he photographs so well.
We enjoyed watching his favorite movie, Frozen 2, and running around trying to get everyone to giggle!
Emma only cries when she's hungry and she sleeps eleven hours at night! She is such a precious little girl!
Eileen is an amazing mother! She's not afraid to get on the ground and play rough and is quick to sing their favorite Disney songs.
I asked what her favorite part of being a mother was and she said it was about all of the things she has learned about herself.
This rings SO true.
Everyone knows that being a mother comes with it's own challenges but it's so rewarding. No matter what, your small babies will always give you a random hug or kiss, especially when you didn't even know you needed it. Raising children gives you a new perspective on life and the future. Even during all of the difficult parts, every moment is worth it.
Liam is obsessed with cars.
He spent a good 30 minutes just inspecting his red car and playing with it all over the living room.
I always love to watch their little minds work and to see the creative things they come up with as they play.
