Sam & Conor tied the knot this past weekend with a "minimony", a small intimate ceremony with a few close friends & famiy.
They had originally planned their wedding to take place at Yorktown Beach but when Covid-19 hit, everything changed. Sam is such a calm, kind and sweet person. Even though the venue changed, she was focused on marrying her best friend and it didn't matter where it happened. Thankfully, Conor's parents have an amazing house on the water that was perfect for this intimate get together. This is also the same location where they held their engagement session.
Sam has the type of personality that you are just automatically drawn to. She is quick to laugh, always checking to make sure other people are doing well first and really enjoys listening to great music. Conor & Sam share a passion for music and it's also what lead to the start of their relationship.
She had her two friends Rachel and Kerrie to stand next to her on this special day. They all radiated such joy and barely let any sign of nerves show. As they started getting ready, Sam was singing to music and they all chatted about life together. She only started to get nervous right before they headed for their first look.
Conor and his guys, David and Tripp, were upstairs relaxing and enjoying their time before they had to get ready. Overall, the day was so incredibly laid back and fun, which made my job so easy! Aren't Conor's shoes the best ever!?
(Conor really wanted to pose like Napoleon Bonaparte and goof off with his friends. They are hilarious!)
Sam & Conor chose to have a first look surrounded by their close friends and family. It was such a beautiful moment! As Conor was turned around, she snuck behind him to cover his eyes before the big reveal. Conor turned around and gasped at how beautiful Sam was. This moment made them even more excited to exchange vows and be forever linked in marriage.
I also loved that they had family and friends supporting them for such an important moment.
After their first look we snuck away for some formal portraits of the soon to be husband and wife. At this point, the sky was getting darker and we all knew rain was headed our way. On par for the day, they didn't even let it phase them.
As we were wrapping up the formal portraits with family, the sky finally let loose and it started pouring rain. Instead of worrying about things not in their control, they just moved the ceremony to the tent. They were not going to let anything stand in their way today.
They walked together, in the pouring rain, where they were welcomed by their loved ones. As the ceremony started, they passed their rings around and each person present touched and blessed their rings. I absolutely LOVED this.
As they read their vows, the sky rumbled loudly with thunder.
They chose an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding and they knocked the decorations out of the park! Conor's mom and sisters paid attention to every little detail and it was beautiful! You can tell how much hard work they had put into tying everything together.
Each table was set with flowers, clocks, personalized books, mirrors and teapots. It was so impressive! Their cake was stunning! They even had personalized Alice in Wonderland Oreos and cake pops made for their guests!
Sam jokes about how she has two left feet when it comes to dancing but their first dance as husband and wife was stunning. They danced and enjoyed the moment together. Conor then shared a dance with his mom while Sam danced with Conor's dad. He is such a character and he had everyone at the reception laughing.
The guests took a walk to the lake, enjoyed the sunlight and danced the night away during the reception.
The polaroid camera and photo booth was a huge hit with the guests!
I snuck Sam & Conor away for a few quick photos right before it started to rain. Once again, nothing bothered them. They danced in the rain and enjoyed finally being married.
They talked to guests over face time who couldn't attend and used facebook live for their ceremony. During a pandemic they still found a way to connect with those who couldn't attend.
As the night came to a close, they were wished well by their guests with a sparkler exit.
Congratulations to Sam & Conor! Your love for one another is extraordinary.
Your wedding day was beyond beautiful. Every moment was woven together with a purpose and I am so over joyed to be a part of your day.
